Services

Audit

When assurance is required over financial information, our division of Stolz CPA Inc. is licensed to provide you and your organization with audit services, which is the highest level of assurance over financial information.

These services involve following strict standards contained in the CPA Canada Handbook and concluding with a report where we provide our opinion on whether your financial information is presented in accordance with standards applicable to your financial reporting framework. These services can range from small attestation engagements to report on compliance to large full-scale consolidated financial statement engagements.

We provide audit services to organizations such as First Nation communities and their economic development corporations and partnerships, societies, registered charities, churches and private schools (including eligible student and statement of per student operating costs audits) and our reports are typically looked at by government agencies, financial institutions, shareholders, lenders, investors, and other stakeholders.

Accounting

As part of the fiscal year end close process, our division of Stolz CPA Inc. works with organizations that require their financial information be compiled into professionally prepared financial statements. These financial statements provide valuable reporting to evaluate your organization’s performance, current financial picture, track trends, and identify issues.

When limited assurance is required on financial information by lenders, investors or government agencies, our division of Stolz CPA Inc. provides review engagement services. Similar to an audit engagement, this engagement follows strict standards contained in the CPA Canada Handbook and concludes with a report.

Finance and Bookkeeping

We help our clients assisting with entering transactions, running payroll, and preparing reports for various government filings such as GST, PST, WorkSafeBC, tax slips and income tax. We work with various software solutions such as cloud-based QuickBooks Online along with conventional software such as QuickBooks Desktop, and Sage50.

As an extension to our bookkeeping services, we also provide remote finance department services that replace the role that a Director of Finance, Finance Manager, or Chief Financial Officer would fill in your organization. Typically serving smaller organizations that require only fractional involvement, we would support upper level management or ownership through budgeting, internal financial reporting, board reports, and assist with decision-making.

Tax

A majority of organizations and individuals are required to file income tax or information returns with Canada Revenue Agency and we can help you meet those obligations.

Preparing T2 corporate, T1 personal tax and T3010 charity returns can be complex, so we’re here to navigate you through the process and advise you on the latest tax matters to mitigate your tax liability risk.

Other tax services we provide include filings upon death such as T1 final returns and T3 trust returns.

Consulting and Advisory

Clients count on us to advise on various financial matters and provide support to their organization to build capacity. We provide insights into developing tax minimization strategies, business sales, and evaluating financing or investment opportunities.

We advise private schools on bookkeeping matters and government reporting requirements in addition to providing training and support services to school personnel. We also provide other organizations with consulting services to support their internal staff with special projects such as setting up financial systems.
